The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, or MMC, ran from 1989 to 1996 on the Disney Channel, filmed at Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando. What started as a way to fill a new theme park's soundstages ended up launching some of the biggest music and movie stars of the 2000s.
In this video, we trace the line from Saturday morning theater clubs in 1929 to Britney topping the charts in 1999 — and show how that same casting formula might be coming back with the 2026 Disney+ reboot.
Next video: Disney's connection to Kids Incorporated — another show that quietly trained a generation of stars.
